why is there a 1967 version of casino royal with a Sir James Bond and what relation is there to James Bond 007?
i dont understand what relation there is to this 1967 casino royal with Peter Seller and ,Ursala Andress, it is nothing like the other James Bond movies. Could someone please explain this to me as i am a fans of James Bond and though i had seen all the movies tell i saw this on the dish the other day and am not sure what to make of it Thank you
That is nothing like the other James Bond movies because:
* it is a non canon movie.
* it is a comedy, not and action movie.
* it is a parody / satire of James Bond films with Sir David Niven as Sir James Bond, the former 007 which is taken back from retirement to save the day once more.
“Charles K. Feldman, the producer, had acquired the film rights and had attempted to get Casino Royale made as an official James Bond movie (i.e. one made by EON Productions); however, Feldman and the producers of the official series, Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, failed to come to terms. Believing that he could not compete with the official series, Feldman resolved to produce the film as a satire.”
